The Moai are big stone statues on Easter Island, Chile, and they're very famous. It is not known when or why they were made, but people in the island thought the Moai as gods. New studies show that the Moai were also helpful for farming. The stones of Moai had phosphorus and calcium. These materials worked as fertilizers. So, the Moai statues helped crops to grow. Because of this, the people of Easter Island may have seen the Moai as gods, because crops grew better around them.
